I always get the question, "How old should my kids be to start taking lessons?" I have kids as young as 5 years old I am teaching now and they are still with me 2-3 years later learning and taking lessons. I think you should let your kids start lessons when you see an interset in music from them so they can explore music through lessons on an instrument. Also I have parents who signed up their son or daughter on a whim and found out they love playing an instrument and have stayed with lessons and are playing the same instrument till this day!
